Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 7, 2026

Recall is a web application and Chrome extension that helps you save, organize, search, and synchronize bookmarks and other web content. This Privacy Policy explains what information Recall processes, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

By using Recall, you acknowledge that your information will be processed as described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Process

Browser Extension Permissions

Recall requests only the browser permissions required to provide its features. The extension accesses the currently active tab only when you explicitly choose to save a page or selected content. It does not continuously monitor your browsing activity.

Bookmark permission is used solely to synchronize bookmarks when that feature is enabled. Authentication tokens and extension preferences are stored using Chrome Extension Storage to support secure sign-in and synchronization.

How We Use Information

Recall processes information only to provide and improve its core features, including:

Authentication

Recall uses secure authentication tokens to maintain your signed-in session and protect your account. These authentication mechanisms are used only for account security, session management, and synchronization.

Data Sharing

Recall may rely on trusted service providers such as cloud hosting, database, storage, and email providers to operate the service. These providers process information only on behalf of Recall and only for the purpose of providing the requested functionality. Recall does not sell personal information to third parties.

Data Retention

Your content remains available until you delete it or delete your Recall account. Deleted information may remain in operational backups for a limited period before being automatically removed as part of normal backup rotation.

Data Security

Recall uses HTTPS encryption, secure authentication mechanisms, and other reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to help protect your information during transmission and storage. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
